Previously, we published a rating of water parks in Ukraine. Since the beginning of full-scale Russian aggression, more than 1 million Ukrainians have found refuge in Germany. Many of our compatriots live in Central Germany – this is the name of the region, which includes three federal states: Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia. Geographically, this region is at a considerable distance from the warm sea. That is why visiting a water park can be a great alternative to a vacation at sea. We have studied in detail the offers of water parks located in Central Germany and offer our rating:
1. Freizeitbad Aqua Marien (Marienberg, Saxony)

Saxony’s largest water park, the AQUA MARIEN in Marienberg, offers fun and relaxation for all ages. In the water park, visitors can use the wave pool, several slides, a flow channel and an outdoor brine pool.
In the sauna area, not only a Finnish sauna, a log cabin sauna and a steam bath await those seeking relaxation, but also the “tunnels” inspired by the traditions of the region – an ore tunnel, a brine tunnel and a charcoal burner’s hut with a fireplace sauna.
In addition to the pool and sauna area, the AQUA MARIEN has a wellness area and a large play area with two bowling alleys, pool tables, table tennis tables, mini golf courses and an outdoor beach volleyball court.
Wave & swimming pool
The swimming pool with 4 x 25 meter lanes offers a sporty feeling for recreational swimmers, clubs and training groups. In the separate wave pool, there is also guaranteed to be plenty of fun.
Brine & adventure pool
Outside you will find two permanently heated adventure pools with bubble loungers, massage jets and floor bubblers, one of which contains brine water with a salt content of around 2%. In summer, the lawn is also a great place to sunbathe.
The slides and the children’s area as well as the attached catering facilities round off the range of services in the bathing area.
Sauna world
A 1000 m² area with a newly designed sauna café offers a wide range of options for switching off and enjoying yourself.
Games area
The AQUA MARIEN has a large games area with 2 bowling lanes, billiards, table tennis, 10 mini golf courses and beach volleyball outside.
2. Erlebnisbad Talsperre Malter (Paulsdorf, Saxony)

This water park is situated in Dippoldiswalde OT Paulsdorf (Saxon) near Dresden.
The Malter Dam adventure pool is located directly at the Malter Dam and offers visitors a charming view of the dam embedded in the foothills of the eastern Ore Mountains.
