Fainin Advisory - From Individual Expertise to an International Advisory Network
Fainin Advisory did not start as a company.
It evolved from over three decades of hands-on experience in international projects, tourism, and regional development.
Since 1993, Oleksandr Fainin has been working in project management, consulting, and business development — long before “advisory” became a formal industry in many emerging markets.
🧭 Foundations (1993–2005)
The journey began with real projects — not theory.
In 1993, the first steps were made in consulting, infrastructure development, and international cooperation.
In 1994, this evolved into tourism and hospitality, with the creation of travel businesses and international tourism products.
One of the key milestones was the foundation of Sun City Travel in the mid-1990s — a company that later became a recognized tour operator in Ukraine.
Its digital presence evolved alongside the business:
from the early domain suncity.kiev.ua to suncity-travel.com.
Today, this domain continues as the digital home of Fainin Advisory, reflecting the transition from an operational tourism business to an international advisory practice.
This continuity is intentional — it represents long-term commitment, accumulated expertise, and a foundation built over decades.
🏗️ From Business to Systems (2005–2020)
Over time, the focus shifted from entrepreneurship to building systems and markets.
This included:
- development of tourism infrastructure and destinations
- cooperation with municipalities and national institutions
- introduction of international booking platforms and standards
- support to policy dialogue and sector reforms
By the late 2010s, the work expanded into international advisory, including cooperation with:
🔄 The Turning Point
Large-scale projects made one thing clear:
No single expert can deliver complex transformation alone.
Work with national strategies and donor-funded programs required:
- multidisciplinary expertise
- strong coordination
- trusted professionals working as one team
This became the foundation for the next step.
🤝 Creation of Fainin Advisory
Fainin Advisory was created as a natural evolution of this experience.
It is not a traditional consulting firm.
It is a curated international advisory network, bringing together experts in:
- tourism and destination development
- sustainable and regenerative development
- regional investment and planning
- marketing and business growth
- public sector and donor programs
